What is MyHIJAU?
MyHIJAU is an initiative by Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC) to promote the sourcing and purchasing of green products and services in Malaysia. Its aim is to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly practices in the country while catalysing the growth of Malaysia’s green economy.
What is MyHIJAU Mark?
MyHIJAU Mark is Malaysia’s official green recognition endorsed by the Government of Malaysia, bringing together certified green products and services that meet local and international environmental standards under one single mark.
What is MyHIJAU Directory?
MyHIJAU Directory is a database that includes information on green products and services in Malaysia. It is a virtual directory that provides information regarding the production and specifications of green products and services that are recognized by the green labelling as well as being a reference to the purchase and consumers seeking green products or services. This directory aims to promote sustainable business and use the green industry in Malaysia. Production can use this database as a place to promote their green business. Can I trust MyHIJAU Mark?
MyHIJAU Mark for Product is given to product which receive a certification by a competent verification body.
MyHIJAU Mark for Service is for approved green service that been carried out by a competent person through GT processes. Applicant for MyHIJAU Mark for Service must demonstrate at least 1 personnel at supervisor level must either register with a Professional body.
There are many eco labels in the market. How MyHIJAU Mark is different?
MyHIJAU Mark represents a collective of different eco-labels standards available in the world and verified by MGTC. Too many labels could confuse the consumer. Thus by having one common logo it is easier for the consumer to identify green products available in the Malaysian market.
How does MyHIJAU Mark product is good for the environment?
The MyHIJAU Mark is a guarantee to consumers that the product they are considering for purchase has a lower environmental impact in comparison to similar products on the market. By buying MyHIJAU Mark product, consumers are making a commitment to the future of the environment. This is because products have to follow tough criteria before they receive the MyHIJAU Mark. By buying these products, you may also encourage other producers and retailers to offer green products.
How does consumer recognised products or services awarded with MyHIJAU Mark?
Products or service recognised under MyHIJAU Mark will carry the mark either printed on the product, on the packaging or on the promotional material. Each product or service shall be given a unique serial number as identification.
How does GreenTech Malaysia verify compliance of the ecological standard and carry MyHIJAU Mark Product?
To obtained MyHIJAU Mark, a supplier must ensure that a product must be certified by the recognised third party verification body as per listed here. For product standard that is not listed in the list, producer can contact the MyHIJAU Mark team.
Does MyHIJAU Mark applies internationally?
No. MyHIJAU Mark is a National initiative to help local suppliers and service providers to promote your green products or services in Malaysia. In addition, this program support the implementation of GT Tax incentive by identifying products or services that are eligible for the tax and to support Government Green Procurement initiatives.
Who can apply for MyHIJAU Mark?
Malaysian suppliers and service providers with products and/or services available in the Malaysian market can apply for the mark. Retailers can also apply for products placed on the market under their own brand name.
Does MyHIJAU Mark can be applied by company registered in foreign?
No. MyHIJAU only open for Malaysian companies. However traders of foreign companies’ product may apply for MyHIJAU Mark.
Do MyHIJAU Directory have in printed copy for our reference?
Yes. MyHIJAU Directory is available in eBook version which is called as MyHIJAU eBook and can be downloaded at foot note of the website.
Do MyHIJAU Directory provide space for advertisement?
Yes. MyHIJAU Directory have space to be rent for advertisement. However currently only eBook have dedicated space. The request can be made at via: https://www.myhijau.my/ebook/.

Which products can register for MyHIJAU Mark Product?
Any products that certified with standard issued by a recognized verification body can apply for MyHIJAU Mark. The products also required to meet the below general criteria:
a) Minimise the degradation of the environment or reduce greenhouse emission;
b) Promotes health and improvement of environment; and
c) Conserves the use of energy, water and/or other forms of natural resources or promote the use of renewable energy or able to recycle waste material resources.
The providers also need to meet to below requirements:
a) Companies and businesses must be registered in Malaysia.
b) Products must carry environmental certification recognised by GreenTech Malaysia.
Which service can register for MyHIJAU Mark Service?
Any service that produce the following green results can apply for MyHIJAU Mark:
a) Minimise the degradation of the environment or reduce greenhouse emission;
b) Promotes health and improvement of environment; and
c) Conserves the use of energy, water and/or other forms of natural resources or promote the use of renewable energy or able to recycle waste material resources.
The providers also need to meet to below requirements:
a) Companies applying must be incorporated in Malaysia.
b) Companies must employ at least one manager/supervisor personal with recognised qualifications for providing green technology service.
c) Companies must demonstrate green practices through procedures or guidelines on environmental management.

What documents should I prepare before I submit for MyHIJAU Mark Product application?
Before submit product application, below are the documents that need to prepare:

What type of Green Label accepted for MyHIJAU Mark Product application?
To be qualified for MyHIJAU Mark Product, the products need to be certified by either one of the following certification/compliance:
a) Green Label Certification (ISO 14024 Type I Eco-Labels)
e.g. SIRIM Eco Labelling Scheme
b) Green Label Certification (ISO 14025 Type III Eco-Labels)
e.g. SIRIM Carbon Footprint Labelling Scheme
c) Green Label Certification (Other Type I-like Voluntary Sustainable Scheme; VSS)
e.g. Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, FSC
d) Performance Standard Compliance
e.g. MS 2413:2011 (P) Electric Motorcycle Specification Part 3 (Performance Test)
What documents should I upload at Supporting Document field when submitting product application?
For Main Certificate under ISO 14024, ISO 14025 and VSS, the Product Criteria Document (PCD) and test report need to be uploaded to support.
For Main Certificate under Performance Compliance, certificate and test report for Safety, Quality and Performance need to be uploaded to support.
What documents should I prepare before I submit for MyHIJAU Mark Service application?
Before submit service application, below are the documents that need to prepare:
a) Company Policy
b) 3 Service Images showing the service is being conducted
c) Service Brochure
d) Competency certificate
e) SOP which shows the way the service being conducted from beginning till the end
How my Company Policy do qualifies to MyHIJAU Mark requirement?
The Policy should be focus more to portray company initiatives towards green activities / agenda. For example 3R, paper recycling, use of LED lighting, use of Solar PV, waste treatment and others.
How my Competency do qualifies to MyHIJAU Mark requirement?
The Competency document must clearly show the company has the competent to conduct the service offered or going to register under MyHIJAU Mark. The competent can be under personal which required at least 1 staff or under the company.
How my SOP do qualifies to MyHIJAU Mark requirement?
The SOP should clearly brief on the service from beginning till the end. It must show from customer appointing your company until you deliver the service to them. If have maintenance after delivered service, please also include. Flow chart can be include as attachment only. The main documents should have clear brief in writing on the service.
For services that provide Facilitation, the SOP can just has brief from beginning of the service when you approach your customer until you deliver your service or complete the facilitation.
How long does the registration process usually take?
Upon complete document submission, GreenTech Malaysia shall take 5 working days upon received complete documents to process the application before the certificate can be issued to the producer or product owner or service provider. However in some cases, it can take up to 14 working days.
How long will the MyHIJAU Mark valid before it should be renewed?
MyHIJAU Mark Product is valid for 3 years or expiry of the third party certificate issued by a third party or whichever earlier and renewal is required to keep the product active.
MyHIJAU Mark Service is valid for 1 year only and renewal is required to keep the service active.
How much does it cost to apply for MyHIJAU Mark?
For MyHIJAU Mark Product, a fee of RM500.00 will be charged per certificate applied, and is to be paid during submitting the application form. Multiple products within a single green certification can be registered in a single submission (charges will be RM500.00 only). For application with certificate validity less than 6 months shall not qualify for registration.
For MyHIJAU Mark Service, a fee of RM1,000.00 will be charged per submission, and is to be paid during submitting the application form. Multiple service can be submitted in a single submission.
How much does it cost for MyHIJAU Mark renewal?
For MyHIJAU Mark Product, the renewal cost will be RM500.00 per certificate.
For MyHIJAU Mark Service, the renewal cost will be RM1,000.00 per submission.
How do I make the payment?
Currently the payment need to be made via Cash Deposit, Cheque Deposit and Online Transfer. Once make the payment, you need to upload the payment proof at Update Payment Proof page.
How do I submit my application?
All application need to be submitted via online at www.myhijau.my. No hardcopy documents are required accept for original copy of Statutory Declaration Form (SDF) upon been signed and chopped by Commissioner of Oath.
How do I submit my SDF?
Once your SDF being signed and chopped by the Commissioner of Oath, the softcopy of the SDF need to be uploaded online at the declaration page and the original copy to be submitted to our office at the below address:

What are the green tax incentives available?
Below are the green tax incentives available for eligible companies;
1. Green Investment Tax Allowance for GT projects;
2. Green Investment Tax Allowance for GT assets; and
3. Green Income tax exemption for GT services
Are there any fees that are included upon application?
Yes, for GITA Asset a fee of RM1,000.00 per application will be charged. For GITA Project a fee will be charged based on total cost of the equipment/machinery in the said project. For GITE Services a fee of RM2,000.00 per application will be charged.
My product is internationally recognised as green product. Would I still qualify for GITA assets?
Even though the product is internationally recognised, in order to qualify for GITA assets, the asset would have to be listed on the MyHIJAU Directory list.
As one of the eligibility requirements to be listed on the MyHIJAU Directory is that the asset must be endorsed or certified by an authorised third party, the asset would have fulfilled one of the eligibility requirements of listing on the MyHIJAU Directory list.
Can a company enjoy both GITA for projects and GITE at the same time?
I am planning to buy/develop a GBI rated building. Can I qualify for GITA?
Yes you can qualify for GITA Project under Green Building Sector.
Do I need to renew my status as being listed under the MyHIJAU Services directory list if I am providing GT services?
Yes. An annual application to renew is required throughout the incentive period. The ITE for a particular year of assessment can be withdrawn if the GT services is subsequently removed from the MyHIJAU Directory.
What type of application form do I require?
Depending on the application being made:
If you are interested in applying for GITA Project or GITE Services, please obtain Form GT/JA from MIDA.
If you are interested in applying GITA Asset, you should obtain Form GITA/A from GreenTech Malaysia.
